My favorite Thanksgiving food? My grandmother's pecan pie. Nothing beats it. It is so sweet, but caramely and oooey goooey. It just says "family" to me, and reminds me of my grandmother's wonderful cooking. She has been gone for more than ten years now, but we still celebrate her life and honor her through her recipes.

Hi Stacy!
Thanks for another CK chance :)
In the Netherlands we do not celebrate Thanksgiving, but Stampot is a very traditional (and common) dish during these cold days.
If you really want the recipe, let me know, it's easy as 1-2-3! :))
kind regards, Corina

Ooh - my favorite is Cranberry Orange bread. It is a recipe that was handed down by my Nonna (Grandmother in Italian). My mom and I made it together for many years and I can't wait for it this year!

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Holland, but the best friend of my brother is an American who lives here and we celebrated Thanksgiving with them a few years ago. The best dish I had there was the pecan pie. It's quite heavy on the stomach, but really delicious!
