"Prepare to make your stickers, papers, die cuts, and more go further than you ever imagined possible. With the tips and tricks in this special issue from Creating Keepsakes, you'll learn how to create beautiful scrapbook layouts using your scrapbooking leftovers and minimal supplies. Whether you're a new scrapbooker or have been creating for years, we'll show you how to stretch your scrapbooking budget to its fullest."
Here's a little sneak peak of a layout I created for this issue (I'll share a close-up in the coming weeks):
As usual, Creating Keepsakes is graciously allowing me to give away a copy of this special issue to one lucky blog reader. To be entered to win, simply leave a comment here before Sunday evening and tell something you do to stretch your scrapbook supplies and/or make the most of leftovers. (One thing I do is save all my scraps of patterened paper and cardstock. I keep them in drawers in arms' reach of my scrap table. Whenever I need smaller pieces for cards, page accents, stamping, journaling, etc., I reach into my drawers of scraps.) I'll draw a random winner and announce it here next week!
This looks like such a great issue! I save my scraps as well, and if I'm going to cover up a large area of patterned paper or cardstock with a photo or another layer, I'll cut out the part that will be hidden and save it for later. Then the layout is lighter and thinner and it stretches my supplies. I'll also cut larger rubons or bling, tags, etc... and use smaller pieces so I can use them on more than just one layout.
ReplyDeleteWow, your layout is gorgeous! You always come up with the most innovative designs! It seems like this is a really fun issue again:) To make the most of my left-overs I usually scrap economically, which means that I cut out the inner squares that you won't see on the front side of the layout. The background will look like a curtain in this way, but it's a great way to safe lots of paper;)
ReplyDeleteLove your layout!!!
ReplyDeletelooks like a fun issue! as for stretching supplies, i love to cut out the centers of my papers where it is covered up! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice layout!
ReplyDeleteI've been experimenting with items other than "scrapbook" stuff to give interest to the page as well as save money.
Made small purchases from hardware store as well as office supply. They have some pretty neat stuff.
Very pretty layout!
ReplyDeleteI save all small elements from my patern paper.
I also try "recycle".
Saving fabric cuts and even samll lace parts:)
Gorgeous layout! I usually save my scraps of paper and ribbon and save to use later on banners that I love to make! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteLove your LO! If some of my kids clothes have a button, a zipper, a tag, or even a decorative jeans pocket, I always remember to save it when they don't fit it anymore. I know i save alot of money by using my QK alpha, and other dies. If I scap a 12x12 page, and I often have a "frame" then I always cut out the middle/inner square of the bazzil since thats hidden by the next paper anyway.
ReplyDeleteTerrific layout! I generally stock lots of card stock and use my much loved stamps, masks and sprays to create my patterned papers.
ReplyDeleteHello Stacy! I'm participating!
ReplyDeleteI like to recycle materials that would go to waste. I have a box full of them. When you need some, caught there.

Love the peek at the layout, Stacy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good issue - would love to win! I recently saved an old pair of my son's jeans from being thrown away (holes in knees). I figured I could die cut the denim to use as an embellie!
ReplyDeleteI use things that may not neccessarily be a scrapbooking product and really stretches my supplies....
