Queen & Co.

Queen & Co. introduced a slew of fabulous new products at CHA a few weeks ago.  I had the pleasure of  creating some projects for their booth. First off, I made a pair of paper shoes using the new papers and the famous Queen & Co. bling (gotta love that bling!!).

I also made some cards using Queen & Co.'s new Valentine's Tapes.  Here are a few of the cards I made:

These pretty new tapes are available through your local retailer, online scrapbook stores, and at Paper Source or through the Paper Wishes catalog.

CHA + a share

I'm heading off to CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) tomorrow!  I can't wait to see all the new 2013 products live and in person.  I'll be sharing my favorites next week.

In the meantime, here's a quick little share for the day.  This is a layout I created for Creating Keepsakes magazine.

As seen in the January/February 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.  Copyright Creative Crafts Group.  Posted with prior permission from the publisher.

I used  beautiful Melissa Frances papers and resin embellishments, then I added some Prima flowers and crystals.  I created the border by crocheting along one edge, then I layered it with lace and painted corrugated cardboard.

Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Spaces -- Volume 2 (and a giveaway!)

Back by popular demand!! Creating Keepsakes just released Creative Spaces Volume 2, by the very sweet Megan Hoeppner.

Creative Spaces with Megan Hoeppner, Volume 2, presents 132 pages of room inspiration, DIY storage and décor projects, and a behind-the-scenes look at the crafting spaces of personalities you know and love. Use this special issue from Creating Keepsakes as a resource to create a space that reflects your own unique scrapbooking style and fuels your creativity.

Check out this link to the sneak peek:  Creative Spaces Sneak Peek

I was honored to have my scrap space profiled in Creative Spaces Vol. 1.  One thing I love about this issue is that it showcases a wide variety of scraprooms, from small to large spaces and from low to high budgets.  At 8 x 9 square feet in size, my scrap room is definitely on the "small" end of the spectrum.  It's also on the lower end of the budget scale.  I repainted our old kitchen table and I use that as my scrap table.  I bought all of the storage units on sale (most at least 50% off or more), and I use baskets purchased at the dollar store to hold lots of my goodies.

Here are photos of my scrap room, some of which were included in Creative Spaces Vol. 1.  My scrap room is right off of our kitchen (a former breakfast nook that we never used because we always eat at our dining room table).  It's the perfect location in the house because I have easy access to SNACKS!

I like having some plastic drawers for storage because it allows me to see what's inside.

Here are a couple pictures of the other corner and wall.

Would you believe it if I told you that my scrap room ALWAYS looks this clean and tidy??  If you believe that, I have some swampland in Florida to sell you. Wink, wink.

Here is a peek at some of my ribbon and lace storage.

I'm embarrassed to say that this is only a fraction of my lace and ribbon collection.  Yes, I admit it. I'm a trim hoarder.

Would you like to see more scrap spaces and storage ideas??  Then be sure to pick up a copy of Creative Spaces Volume 2!  Megan and Creating Keepsakes are generously allowing me to give away a copy of this fabulous special issue to one lucky blog reader.  To be entered to win, simply leave a comment here before the end of the day on Tuesday, January 15th.  Just for fun, tell me your favorite thing about your scrap space.

Giveaway winner -- CK Fast and Fresh Scrapbooks

I've been taking a little hiatus from blogging over my girls' winter break, so I apologize for the delay in announcing the winner of my blog giveaway for Creating Keepsakes' "Fast and Fresh Scrapbooks" special issue.  Without further delay, the random number generator picked number 3, which means that the winner is . . . Melinda!!  Melinda, I normally contact the winner, but I couldn't find your email or blog on your blogger profile.  Please email me (link on the sidebar >>>) and give me your full name and address.

I will be posting about another fabulous CK special issue (plus a giveaway!) here on Tuesday.  After that, I will get back to my regularly scheduled blog posting -- sharing layouts, cards, and other things I created in the past year that I haven't posted yet.  Yep, I was a bad blogger in 2012.  I'll try to get caught up in 2013.

Happy New Year!!!
